It earned 346,000 tickets and 516,244,100 yen (approximately US$3.56 million) from Friday to Sunday. The film has sold a total of 8.43 million tickets and earned a cumulative total of 12,200,988,300 yen (approximately US$84.21 million) since its release.

The live-action film of Akiko Higashimura's semi-autobiographical manga Blank Canvas: My So-Called Artist’s Journey debuted at #4 in its opening weekend, selling 125,000 tickets and earning 169,750,080 yen (approximately US$1.17 million).
