XRP Price Eyes $2.20 Breakout Amid Settlement Buzz and Whale Activity – Is $27 Next?
XRP price surged to $2.13 in the latest session, up more than 5% in 24 hours, with trading volume exceeding $3.6 billion. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse confirmed that XRP is the best-performing major crypto over the past 90 days, and momentum appears far from over.
The rally is fueled by a mix of legal clarity, whale accumulation, and strategic expansion that's fueling investor confidence. The recently settled legal dispute with the SEC and the acquisition of prime broker Hidden Road aims to onboard institutions like BlackRock into the crypto space.
Whales are also driving action behind the scenes. Ripple transferred 200 million XRP (over $400 million) to an unknown wallet, shortly before XRP rallied from $1.94 to $2.13. Glassnode data shows retail interest is still strong, with XRP's realized cap jumping from $30.1 billion to $64.2 billion in February.
From a chart perspective, XRP is knocking on the door of major resistance at $2.17, an area that aligns with a descending trendline and psychological resistance. The 50-period EMA near $2.02 continues to act as key support.
If bulls break through, $2.30 could come quickly, and longer-term, analysts haven't ruled out a surge toward $27.
