Strike CEO Jack Mallers Does Not Rethink Commitment to Bitcoin Payments Platform Despite Taking on Role at Bitcoin Treasury Firm Twenty One Capital
Strike CEO Jack Mallers has confirmed that his new role as CEO of Bitcoin treasury firm Twenty One Capital will not distract him from his duties at Strike, a leading Bitcoin payments platform. Mallers revealed that his new company and Strike have different goals, with Strike focusing on making Bitcoin accessible globally and Twenty One Capital aiming to increase Bitcoin ownership per share (BPS) and pioneer Bitcoin-native financial tools.
In a letter to Strike investors, Mallers emphasized that every business decision he makes is guided by the question of whether it is "good for Bitcoin," and he believes that his new role at Twenty One Capital will allow him to make a greater impact on the cryptocurrency market.
The news comes as Twenty One Capital announced its launch on April 23, with significant backing from major players in the industry, including Tether, SoftBank, and Cantor Fitzgerald. The company has revealed plans to launch with 42,000 Bitcoin (BTC) and challenge Michael Saylor's Strategy as the "superior vehicle for investors seeking capital-efficient Bitcoin exposure."
Mallers also publicly shared key metrics for Strike, revealing that the company processed over $6 billion in volume in 2024, recorded 600% year-on-year growth, maintained an 85% gross profit margin, and reported zero customer acquisition costs. He also expects Strike to "generate 8-9 figures in net profit in 2025" despite maintaining a team of only 75 employees.
The news has sparked speculation among crypto enthusiasts about the future of Strike, with some asking how the logistics will work with Mallers taking on a new role. However, neither Mallers nor Strike has indicated any intention of folding into Twenty One Capital.
